Nectar Collectors

Step 1: Insert the glass Nectar Collector Mouthpiece into the non-threaded end of the medium sized stainless steel 16mm Connector.

Step 2: Insert the glass and stainless steel spillguard into the inside of one of the large stainless steel connectors.

Step 3: Using the other large stainless steel connector, insert the glass diffuser into the inside.

Step 4: Insert the Stinger Tip Core into the NON-THREADED end of the Stinger Tip Connector

Step 5: Screw the Stinger Tip into the threaded end of the stainless steel connector that holds the diffuser

Step 6: Connect the stainless steel connector with the spillguard attached into the narrow end of the glass Mini Pro Core.

Step 7: Fill the glass Mini Pro Core, through the open end, with water to the top of the spillguard on the smaller end.

Step 8: Give it a little shake, to remove excess water.

Step 9: Keeping the core upside down(spillguard pointing to the sky), place the connector, with the diffuser attached, to the wide opening on the Mini Pro core.

Step 10: Screw the double sided Nectar Connector into the connector with the connector with the spillguard.

Step 11: Screw the mouthpiece on to the Nectar Connector attached to the connector with the spillguard.

Using the Nectar Collector is very simple. As we like to say, “Just heat the tip, dip, and sip” but beware, overheat the tip or botch the dip and you might find yourself in a sticky situation.

All the water cooled Nectar Collectors are filled from the top. Fill with water about ½ way up the inside diffuser for optimal percolation.

Fill your water cooled Nectar Collector with the tip removed and make sure there is no water in the lower joint before using. Water trapped in the tip can lead to cracking of the tip or joint or WORSE. Water will cause a hot glass tip to crack instantly. It is also possible for water dripping into a hot tip to vaporize violently enough to shatter the lower body of your Nectar Collector. No Bueno …

To remove the water, remove the tip and blow down as hard as you can through the mouthpiece. The water will be pushed out through the bottom of the piece.

Heating the Tip

Once again, be sure there is no water trapped in the tip or in the bottom joint of the Nectar Collector. If water drips into a hot tip it can vaporize and shatter the lower body of your piece. To properly heat the tip, use a brushing motion with your torch flame and heat the very end of the tip only. After a few seconds hold the torch steady so that the edge of where the blue part of the flame meets the yellow part of the flame is focused on just the end of the tip. Gently roll the Nectar Collector back and forth to get an even heat on the end of the tip. Once the end of the tip has a faint orange glow stop heating and wait … about 3 seconds. If the tip is glowing red you will be burning, not vaporizing your concentrate. WARNING: DO NOT OVERHEAT THE TIP. Overheating can lead to cracking of the joint that connects the tip to the Nectar Collector. Most concentrates vaporize between 600 and 900 degrees F. If your tip is glowing red hot, it is TOO HOT.

For best results approach the edge of your concentrate carefully with the hot tip. Going for the center of the pile will cause it to melt and puddle, which could result in your sucking some of your valued resource up into the Nectar Collector without it vaporizing. In addition it will leave your remaining stash tasting less than optimal.

For the Perfect Hit

Begin drawing in air through the mouthpiece before touching the hot tip to the nectar. Lightly touch the edge of your stash and immediately pull away while continuing to inhale. If you want a bigger hit go back right away for another dip and another and another… WARNING: For those of you with more oil than brains … DO NOT SUBMERGE YOUR HOT TIP INTO YOUR STASH JAR AND ATTEMPT TO TAKE THE MOTHER OF ALL RIPS. The concentrate could vaporize violently enough to cause damage to your piece … or you!

To clean your piece, first remove your tip and blow all of the water down through the tip joint from the mouthpiece. After this is done, fill the piece with Formula 710, or your preferred cleaner, and allow the piece to soak for at least one hour. We like formula 710. Salt and rubbing alcohol also works well. Be careful if using Simple Green, we have had it take off decals on a few occasions.

PRO TIP: Set the piece vertically in a cup or glass and allow it to soak overnight. Rinse your piece with hot water until the water runs clear. The tip can be completely submerged in the cleaning solution and rinsed the same way.

If you have one of our early designs and are interested in determining whether that piece can be upgraded to the newest infinity tech connectors, please email us customersupport@nectarcollector.org.
The ability to make an upgrade, and the cost to do so, will be determined on a case by case basis.
For example, a Nectar Collector classic 3.0 with a fused body and perc would cost $200 to do the saw and glass work to convert it to a removable core, perc, mouthpiece, etc.  The upgrade cost would include labor and the metal connectors required.

Frequently Asked Questions

The number that is etched into the piece is the number of that piece. For example, if you have an Nectar Collector Mini numbered #1420, you have the 1420th Nectar Collector Mini made. The signature is where Kristian Merwin signs the piece.

Some coils thread into the atomizer counter clockwise so that when threading the atomizer to the mouthpiece attachment, it does not unscrew itself. Be sure to check the threading direction when attaching the coil.

Allow the piece to sit in hot water for a few minutes. This loosens the residue in the joint and should allow an easier release.

Why Should You Season Your Tip?

  • It makes the material stronger & clearer.
  • It will close the pours making the tip very smooth & easy to clean.
  • It makes the tip cleaner by removing any chemical residue.
  • It will insure a longer life for the tip.
  • After seasoning, your tip becomes a proper catalyst for vaporization. Your concentrate’s will taste much better!

How To Season Your Tip

  1. Use tongs to hold the tip.
  2. Heat the tip for 2 min.
  3. Carefully drop the hot tip in ice water.
  4. Remove the tip, dry thoroughly, & enjoy!

NOTE: Your titanium tip will become red & blue in color after seasoning.

Be careful with solvents! We have notice issues with Simple Green. Do not use metal cleaning tools, including steel wool, near the decals.

When proper nectar collecting technique is used: yes (see above). The heat of the tip is well below the flash point of the silicone baking pad material and the time that the hot tip is in contact with the material is not long enough to cause any off-gassing of the pad. Remember it’s dip and sip not hold and suck …

  • To avoid accidental separation of your tip or mouthpiece from the Nectar Collector body, check for a snug fit BEFORE EVERY USE!
  • DO NOT OVERHEAT THE TIP! If it’s glowing red, it’s too hot. Excessive heating of the tip can lead to cracking of the tip or joint or WORSE.
  • Fill your water cooled Nectar Collector with the tip removed. Water trapped in the tip can lead to cracking of the tip or joint or WORSE.
  • Fill SLOWLY with water. Filling too quickly will cause a siphon effect which will cause the water to just flow through the piece.
  • Fill with water about half way up the inside diffuser for optimal percolation.
  • If you are having issues filling your Nectar Collector with water; to try to fill it from the tip joint rather than the mouthpiece. With some pieces it seems to work better that way.
  • To clear water from the spill proof Nectar Collectors with fixed mouthpieces, remove the tip and blow down through the mouthpiece.
  • To extend the life of your Nectar Collector glass tips, first heat the tip gently by moving the flame in a brushing motion across the tip until it has a faint red glow.
  • It is important to hold the Nectar Collector horizontally while heating to avoid leaks from any residue that may be inside the tip.
  • To heat the tip quickly and conserve your butane, try heating the tip with the top of the blue flame where it meets the yellow flame.
  • Just because a tip is cracked doesn’t mean it’s broken. Cracks are natural when glass gets heated and cooled over and over.
  • To get the most out of your stash and make it last, draw air through the mouthpiece before putting the heated tip to your nectar.

If you have an old school 14mm ground joint use Joint Wax on ground joints and tips to keep them stuck together when you want and easy to pull apart when you’re done. Apply a thin coating of joint wax to the male joint. Gently heat the joint wax using your torch until it just starts to melt. Immediately insert into the female joint and twist back and forth until both surfaces are evenly covered and the joints are set in place. To take apart simply twist and wiggle the joints apart.
